Who We Are

PROTTASHA Bangladesh is a non-government voluntary organization emerged in 2000 and has been working around 9-Upazilas named Sadar, Birol, Chirirbandar, Fulbari, Birampur, Hakimpur and Ghoraghat under the district of Dinajpur, Thakurgoan, and Nilfamari, Viswanath under Sylhet Kolapara, Dasmina, Rangabali, Golachipa under Patuakhali and Charfassion & Monpura under Bhola district. The organization has been implementing different need-based development projects aiming to uplift the living standard of the poor people and small professionals with the financial and technical assistance from different national and international donors. The organization has long years of experiences working with the national and international partners i.e Muslim Aid Australia, Muslim Aid UK, Society for Social and Technical Support, ASAI. Established as far back as in 2000, it has by now earned an enviable reputation and been registered organization of NGO Affairs Bureau, Directorate of Social Affairs, Directorate of Youth Development and Women and Children welfare Department. The  organization has the strength and capacity to carry out School Feeding Program-WFP, livelihood, WASH, Education, Health and programme on Women Empowerment independently with its workforce. Prottasha Bangladesh, run by a nine member Executive Committee has a band of brilliant academic scholars as well as the professional groups in the fields of social work, training and advocacy.

Major target beneficiaries of the organization are landless, marginalized farmer, day labor, small trader, professionals and men and women of the community, who lived under below poverty line around villages and slum areas. Special attention is given to the women and children as they are most deprived and neglected in the family and society. Organization has been trying to bring them out from any obstacles and promote their position toward becoming Human Resources thus they will enable to find own employment opportunity and proceed themselves maintaining sustainable livelihood.
